400 years ago, the Dutch East India Company (VOC) commenced trade with Japan. This exhibition shows four centuries of cultural contacts between the two countries through objects from the Rijksmuseum and other collections.

400 jaar geleden knoopte de VOC officiële handelsbetrekkingen aan met Japan. De tentoonstelling geeft een beeld van vier eeuwen culturele contacten tussen de twee landen: porselein, lakwerk, textiel en schilderijen uit onder meer de collectie van het Rijksmuseum.
